This summer my daughters traveled from the Southwest to Chicago with their school choir to perform several concerts there. My family had never heard them sing, so we traveled back, rented a car, and took the whole gang to their concerts. It was a wonderful time, but in hindsight, I really wish I had put out the investment to hire a Chicago limo rental vehicle.
To begin with, once we got aunts, uncles, and cousins together, we had eight concertgoers, which necessitated taking two cars. That meant twice as much gas, twice the parking fees, and an immeasurable increase in stress levels. Let’s just say it was hard to keep the convoy even slightly in touch when our two GPS systems had a difference of opinion.
It was a challenge to get where we needed to be downtown with the construction. Even though we had just updated the GPS before the trip, since we didn’t really know where we were going, we did a bit of backtracking. A Chicago limo rental driver would have known exactly where to go and where to park. If he didn’t know, he wouldn’t turn and tell me it was all my fault. But I digress.
Lastly, we missed popcorn. I know, that doesn’t seem like it has anything to do with driving, but if I had been in a limo, I wouldn’t have thought twice about asking the driver to go a few miles out of the way for a ten-gallon barrel of Garrett cheese and caramel popcorn. As it was, by the time we figured out where we were, we were long past those stores and missed a treat. A great vacation could have been amazing with not much more cost.
