My dad has always been a big collector, and I guess that the collecting gene also got passed on to me. Ever since I was just a little kid, I have always been collecting something. When I was about six years old, I started collecting sports cards. Back then, they were relatively cheap. A pack of cards back then was about thirty-five cents. If you wanted the really pricey ones, they were a dollar per pack. Each pack contained about fifteen sports cards. I had several binders full of basketball, football, and baseball cards. My mom was always encouraging me to save me money, but that’s not really what serious collectors do. As soon as I ever got fifty cents, I was always begging my mom to take me to the store so that I could buy some more sports cards.
Over the years, there were a lot of things that I ended up collecting. In elementary school, there was a vending machine that sold NFL pencils for a quarter. I collected those throughout my elementary school years. Currently, I guess you could say that I am collecting guitar overdrive and fuzz pedals. I guess everybody has different tastes when it comes to collecting.
